Miswak Toothbrushes

Size: 20cm (Thick and Thin available)

The Miswak is a natural toothbrush which comes from twigs of the Arak tree (Salvadora Persica). The tree’s natural antibacterial properties are so powerful, that it is far more beneficial to use the Miswak instead of a toothbrush and toothpaste, and this has been proven in a number of medical studies.

Aisha narrated: The Prophet said, “The Miswak cleanses and purifies the mouth and pleases the Lord.” (An-Nasa’I, Book 9, Hadith 212)

Abu Huraira narrated: Allah’s Messenger said, “If I had not found it hard for my followers or the people, I would have ordered them to clean their teeth with Siwak for every prayer.” (Bukhari, Book 11, Hadith 12)

We have included an instructional image below, however soaking the miswak in step 3 is optional, and you can use your teeth to chew then fingers to peel off the bark instead of using a knife if you wish. In step 5, the cutting can be done every few days or even every month, whenever you feel the current section has been used to its maximum.
